The GE Fanuc IC600BF801 remote I/O receiver module offers a long-distance and serial communication interface between remote and local I/O locations. The module supports 2 kinds of serial communication interfaces, including the RS-232-C (Modem) interface and an interface with 2 twisted pairs of cables. The RS-232-C (Modem) interface enables the Remote I/O station to be situated far away from the Local I/O station or CPU. The distance between the CPU and I/O reduces wiring expenses. It is restricted only by the required I/O response time and the modem's specifications. The twisted-pair interface has 2 types of unidirectional data lines that are made to receive data and transmit data.
